WHAT TO DO TO KEEP YOUR PUBLICITY GROWING!
May 18, 2020Want to know the third batch of tips to start taking action with your publicity plan?
In this post, I'll continue with even more publicity tips to help you succeed {and ones no one else is doing!}.
These are my secret strategies that have gotten me booked on EOFire, Good Morning La La Land, TEDx, Huffington Post, Buzzfeed, Medium + so much more.
Ready?
And before we dive in, I highly recommend taking my Build Your Press Plan series so you can identify the visibility/publicity strategy you should be focusing on! Take it here.
1. Celebrate The Win!!
You've been steadily submitting over the past week, so you should have heard back from one or two features by now.
Congrats!!!
But what do you do now? The answer is to promote it everywhere!
Here are some ideas:
- Your email list
- Instagram Stories
- Facebook Page
- Facebook Profile
- Facebook Group
The reason why this is so critical is one word: perception.
As people see your features roll out, they will be cheerleading you, taking notice and referring you to other opportunities.
Trust me. It happens. Word of mouth is huge!
The other good news is that your podcast host, editor, interviewer will be SO happy that you're shouting out their feature of you!
I know I go on and on about mutual benefit, but it holds up.
Giving in this way by taking the time to create the post of their platform says volumes.

2. Stay Consistent
Get more consistent with your list-building, social media posting, livestreams + visibility vehicle.
Just because you’re getting publicity, it doesn’t mean to stop everything else!
You WILL get lazy. Trust me.
The features roll in and you think you can hang up your visibility hat.
But that's the worst thing you can do!
We want to keep the momentum going.
Continue to focus on social media posting, going live, your blog/podcast/youtube channel and list-building strategies!
This is where the magic happens - when you do BOTH.
3. Clean Up Your Social
Most people forget about this part...
But if someone is looking into featuring you, they WILL look you up!
That means your website and social media channels are about to be under the microscope.
Are you ready for that?
It's always a good idea to start polish up your social media channels, website, YouTube channel and anywhere else that needs some attention.
That way the host/booker/editor will be impressed and click to book you versus run away screaming ;).
4. Add Your Next Feature!
You're in the rhythm of pitching...
And now that you're familiar with the schedule {and have been doing it for 30-60 days}, it's time to add another publicity feature type!
This can be:
- public speaking
- opinion pieces
- publications
- magazines
- tv
Stacking these one at a time is a great way to see consistent, steady progress.
That way, you can leverage one opportunity to the next and the next!
5. Stay Accountable!
The truth? You can't do this all on your own.
You will start lacking in motivation, accountability and before you know it?
Months will have gone by without you sending out any pitches at all.
If you don't have a place that's encouraging you on a consistent basis, I want to invite you to make that commitment.
Put that accountability in place, so you can be in for the publicity long haul.
This will get you closer and closer to that huge, amazing opportunities you've been dreaming about!
