Launched podcast in 2012 to be the first daily podcast interviewing entrepreneurs.

JLD: 100 million listeners, 1.4 million monthly listens.

What if I took those 3,000 episodes + created a 17 step roadmap to show the foundational principles all entrepreneurs share?

After 180 hours of writing, the book was done! So now I'm going to promote the heck out of it! So the last month has been me doing just that.

Promoting this book - because I believe in it so much.

I can say that with zero hesitation because it isn't my genius - it's all the people I've interviewed.

JLD: I've always been a future-projecting person, so I wanted the book to represent that.

These are the core 17 foundational principles of what these 3,000 guests have taught me. It's to lead people to financial freedom + fulfillment.

Every step is critical.

FINDING YOUR BIG IDEA

JLD: People don't normally take the time to identify their big idea.

It's a sad reality that most people will die without every identifying their big idea.

We need to live in our zone of fire. We all have a big idea!

What so few people every take the step to do is find it - so they live in daily mediocrity.

Sit down + find the best version of yourself. You don't need to copy or imitate other's ideas.

ENCAPSULATE YOUR BIG IDEA, JLD!

JLD: In 2012, I had gone through 6 years of struggle. I was in the US Army + was a law school, real estate dropout.

So it took me time to identify that the 5 people I spent the most time with were negative.

I committed to reading the right books, surrounding myself with education.

Albert Einstein "try not to become a person of success, but a person of value."

I was chasing success only, so I committed to the change of becoming a person of value.

That's why I launched the podcast.

My BIG IDEA was "man, I would love to be doing this + talking to amazing people I'm inspired by". That's how it happened.

DISCOVER YOUR NICHE

JLD: You have to find a problem that isn't being solved.

For me, there were thousands of podcasts.

Business podcasting was a bit of a niche down.

So I niched down to podcasts that interview entrepreneurs {only 7 at the time}.

The problem I could solve was having it publish daily. That show didn't exist.

So I became the first daily podcast interviewing entrepreneurs.

Over time, it became a media empire.

All from that one big idea that I niched down.

WHAT IS YOUR CURRENT TRAFFIC + INCOME GENERATOR

JLD: My traffic generator is definitely the podcast. I have 8 different calls to action I rotate with each episode.

They all lead to a different funnel, which all lead to a revenue-generating part of my business.

For 91 months now, I've been publishing monthly income reports. Where the money comes in + where it goes.

We take the podcast traffic + make sure give a strong call to action to a free, great offer so they can scale to the paid offer.

This had led to us generating a net profit of at least $100,000.

HOW HAVE YOU GROWN PERSONALLY + WITH YOUR BUSINESS WITH RELATIONSHIP MARKETING?

JLD: It was obvious to me early on that you're the average of the 5 people you spend the most time with {Jim Roan}.

I wanted to improve my average.

I was able to do that with absorbing info with books + podcasts.

It then became my guests because every week I was spending with at least 7 incredible people.

I kept upleveling my network + connections to up my average.

Now, I'm able to lean on my guests + ask them to help me with my book launch!

WHAT'S YOUR BIGGEST GOAL WITH THIS BOOK RELEASE?

JLD: It's honestly how I dream for every episode.

I want something in this book to speak to someone in a certain way to get them to do something they'd never done.

Which will inspire others + prompt THEM to do something they've never done.

It's the ripple effect.

Michelle: We're given that big idea so we can give back. Our piece of the puzzle of helping the world.

WHAT MAKES YOU HEALTHY, PRODUCTIVE + IN A CONTINUAL STATE OF CREATION?

JLD: Morning routines are everything!

Normally, we drop into OPP first thing in the morning {other people's problems}.

What can you do daily to fill YOU up?

I like to start my day with a walk, a workout, a sauna + a cold plunge.

Then I read for 15 minutes, journal for 15 minutes + meditate for 15 minutes.

It takes me about 90 minutes - 2 hours, but this sets me up to be fired up for my guests.
